This is a great recipe for DIY carpet cleaner solution. Although, I would suggest that the woman in this video hire a stunt double because that fall was pretty funny. She does hit the nail on the head for a powerful DIY Carpet cleaner. As a professional carpet cleaner in Tampa FL I have heard hundreds of DIY cleaning solutions from customers who swear by them.
This particular recipe is one I have used several times in my own home. Their are some small changes that could even make it a little bit more powerful without adding any chemicals. I always recommend using carbonated or soda water instead of ordinary tap water when mixing your own carpet cleaner. So swap out the plain H2O and add some bubbly to get things rolling. I would also suggest adding the juice from half a lemon instead of essential oils. You will still get the same great smell and add some citrus cleaning power to your cleaner.
DIY Carpet Cleaner Recipe:
1 cup carbonated or soda water
1 cup white vinegar
Juice of half a lemon
1tsp salt
Baking soda
Mix all of the wet ingredients and salt together in a spray bottle or mixing bowl. Then shake or stir it to mix it all together. Shake some baking soda over your carpet spot then gently brush it into the carpet evenly. Now spray or pour the DIY carpet cleaner on the spot and let it sit for about 30 seconds. Now blot it up with a white cotton towel to remove the spot and cleaning solution. Repeat until the spot is gone. If the spot doesn't go away you might need to call a professional carpet cleaner.
