Living near Land O’ Lakes FL we run into this issue a lot. If you have a pet that has difficulty being house broken then you are probably dealing with a lot of pet stains in your carpet. This video shows you a step by step process on how to clean pet stains out of your carpet and eliminate odor problems before they begin.
In the video they use a small amount of baby shampoo. Baby shampoo is perfect for cleaning your carpet because it’s a gentle cleaner with a balanced pH. Other cleaners that can be used as substitutes for baby shampoo are dish soap (we recommend Dawn dish soap), and Woolite. The key is to use a small amount of cleaner with a large amount of water.
At Chem-Dry of Tampa we highly recommend using a small wet vac like the one used in the video, or a small spot remover vacuum designed for carpet use. If you don’t own one of these vacuums a towel will work fine. When using a towel make sure to dry the spot thoroughly using as many towels as needed.
If your pet stains are dry you might have to rely on a professional carpet cleaner to remove them. At Chem-Dry of Tampa (we service the Land O’ Lakes area too) we have a specialized Pet Urine Removal Treatment (P.U.R.T) to take of your tough pet stains.
