I love this video for it's low end production value and it even has some good tips for getting red wine out of carpet. My carpet cleaning experience tells me that a lot of people spill red wine in the carpet. Especially in Tampa FL where I live. This video suggest cleaning up the red wine with a towel as soon as the spill occurs. Getting to a spill quickly is essential in getting the red wine out before it becomes a stain. I would not however recommend using white wine as a cleaner. Instead, use carbonated water to get the wine out quickly. Yes, you can use soda or seltzer water if they're on the bar. Pour the carbonated water on the wine spill and wait a 30 seconds then dab up the extra wine.
If that doesn't get all the wine out I would suggest mixing 1/2 cup water with 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide and add about 5 to 6 drops of dish washing detergent. mix it together and pour it on the wine stain. Wait another 30 seconds and blot it up with a clean white towel. I've used these remedies before and had great success with them . If there is still a persistent red wine spot after cleaning it might be time to call a professional carpet cleaner in your area.
