This is one of our older videos that could use some updating. We still use the same process to remove candle wax from carpet but instead of using the steamer in the video we use a basic wall paper steamer, or steam cleaner like most people have in their home. All you really need is the heat to melt the candle wax and then extract it with a towel or some sort of suction. Your basic steamer does not get hot enough to melt your carpet like a hot iron can. A steamer is the safest way to remove wax from most soft surfaces in your home.
AT Chem-Dry of Tampa FL we use a steamer for a lot of different jobs. It's a great tool to take on some of the tougher stains. More then just wax. It gets out gum and helps to break down some oily messes. We also use our steamer on some stubborn grout lines while we are cleaning tile and grout. In the end we mostly use it to get out candle wax. It always amazes me how many people in Tampa FL spill wax on their carpet or upholstery.
