This video called How to Remove Tough Carpet Stains shows you how to remove carpet spots using Shout stain remover. Shout is a liquid pre-spray detergent used for treating clothes before they go into the washing machine. It has a lot of soaps, detergents, and surfactants. All of these things are great at removing dirt and deep stains in your washing machine. However, it would be a big mistake to use Shout as a carpet spot cleaner.
As a professional carpet cleaner in Tampa FL I have seen hundreds of home remedies for removing stains from carpets. Some are very good and safe to use and some are down right dangerous. I would not recommend using shout to clean your carpet. It will get out the original spot quite easily but it will soon replace it with an even bigger tougher stain in about two weeks. Shout is made to be rinsed out during the washing and rinsing cycles in your washing machine. Large amounts of water flush the Shout pre-spray out of your clothes during the rinse cycle.
When you apply Shout to your carpet it does not come out by blotting it with a towel. It needs to be flushed out with large amounts of water. It will remain in your carpet and start to collect more soil almost immediately. The soaps and detergents are designed to hold on to the soils and be rinsed away when fully submerged. When cleaning carpet spots we don't flush it with enough water to rinse away the dirt attracting residues. A new stain will emerge quickly and you will be back a square one again. To remove tough carpet stains I recommend using water and vinegar in equal parts. No rinsing is required and the stain will not return.
